Why education is a weapon? by Nelson Mandela
Nelson Mandela inspires me a lot, and for many reasons. Education in all societies is considered by every governements, every parents as essential to the future man inscripted in each child.
Education (from Wikipedia) is the process of facilitating learning, or the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, beliefs, and habits. Educational methods include storytelling, discussion, teaching, training, and directed research. Education frequently takes place under the guidance of educators, but learners may also educate themselves. Education can take place in formal or informal settings and any experience that has a formative effect on the way one thinks, feels, or acts may be considered educational. The methodology of teaching is called pedagogy.
Formal education is commonly divided formally into such stages as preschool or kindergarten, primary school, secondary school and then college, university, or apprenticeship.
A right to education has been recognized by some governments and the United Nations. In most regions, education is compulsory up to a certain age.
In ethics, value denotes the degree of importance of some thing or action, with the aim of determining what actions are best to do or what way is best to live (normative ethics), or to describe the significance of different actions. Value systems are proscriptive and prescriptive beliefs, they affect ethical behavior of a person or are the basis of their intentional activities. Often primary values are strong and secondary values are suitable for changes, What makes an action valuable may in turn depend on the ethical values of the objects it increases, decreases or alters. An object with “ethic value” may be termed an “ethic or philosophic good” (noun sense).
Values can be defined as broad preferences concerning appropriate courses of actions or outcomes. As such, values reflect a person’s sense of right and wrong or what “ought” to be. “Equal rights for all”, “Excellence deserves admiration”, and “People should be treated with respect and dignity” are representatives of values. Values tend to influence attitudes and behavior and these types include ethical/moral values, doctrinal/ideological (religious, political) values, social values, and aesthetic values. It is debated whether some values that are not clearly physiologically determined, such as altruism, are intrinsic, and whether some, such as acquisitiveness, should be classified as vices or virtues.
Raising funds is a hard job, whatever you may think!
And if it is just for your own needs, one could object that it is good to create activity, entreprises, associations, … but what for.
In some financial programs, you need to share part of your profits to NGO, and I belive it is normal.
So I decided, that for the project “Make ULTRA n°1”, it would be good to have a goal larger than just me, you and our influence circles. Ultra originaly is a brand of hand tool, and Tools is just a mean to give you more power (in your hands) to create something. So it is why I choose that we will share your donations with UNICEF, but it can be an organization of your choice, to continue this path on peace, education and improving the world, slowly, but surely.
I hope you understand .
